Michael Gfroerer

Thoroughly educated in classical piano performance, music theory and music history, Michael has been teaching piano for almost 30 years. He recently self-published his popular Piano Lessons Method Book, A B C D E F G: Learn to Play Piano Quickly with Colours.

Having graduated from the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music (now part of Conservatory Canada) with theoretical requirements from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Michael also studied music and psychology at York University. He has also studied, written and performed in jazz styles and played in a rock band for ten years.

Michael is a respected composer, having received the Orfeo Musica, Sweden in 2007, for international co-operation by promoting human rights through musical composition. As a founding member and Co-Artistic Director of CONTACT Contemporary Music Toronto, he had the opportunity to work with many of Canada’s leading composers. As a teacher, Lynn began her career in high school by teaching piano to students and has expanded her repertoire to aural skills, sight-singing and music theory. During her Master's training in Indiana, Lynn focused on encouraging students to excel in piano proficiency. Along with instruction, she has helped guide students with auditions for music training programs and their own personal music goals. She enjoys helping people of all ages and sharing her love for music with them!
