A native of Rothesay, New Brunswick, Signa has been heard as a soloist on national television and CBC Radio, and has performed in opera and concert halls throughout Canada, the US, and abroad. In 2009, Signa completed a Masters of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Toronto. During her studies, Signa was a soloist with the Kingsway-Lambton Church Choir, under the direction of Ruth Watson Henderson.
In April 2017, Signa made her debut with Opera Atelier, in Mozart's Lucio Silla in Toronto. During the following two years, she was a choral scholar at the University of California in Berkeley. Signa performed the title role in the opera Dido & Aeneas, and performed as a soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria with UC Berkeley Chorus and Symphony Orchestra, as well as in the Christmas Cantata by Scarlatti with the UCB Baroque Ensemble. In the summer of 2018, Signa sang with West Edge Opera in the chorus of Hamlet, and then in Orfeo in 2019.
Signa has been teaching voice lessons for over a decade. She prepares her students for exams, festivals and concerts, and her students have been successful in winning provincial competitions. She nurtures the art of singing in her students with coaching on musicality, performance, classical vocal technique, foreign languages, diction, and acting. Signa currently resides in downtown Toronto, and enjoys sharing the love of music with her students.
